DLH Removals

According to the contract, DLH were suppose to arrive for collection at 7:00am on 23rd December 2024. They arrived at 9:45am and there was no sense of urgency. I asked the supervisor what time they were going to arrive at the destination the following morning, he then informed me that the truck would only arrive on 26th December 2024. I then had to scramble to get a booking for 2 nights which costed me R1620.00. In the very beginning I stressed to the supervisor that we had a long journey ahead and we didn't want to leave late because we were two old people and we didn't want to travel through the night! After 4 hours of taking my goods to the truck, I reached a stage of severe anger. Almost the whole time, one man was collecting my goods and taking them to the truck. One man was playing on cellphone when I went out to check what was happening. The supervisor was no where to be seen! I must mention that they were only interested in taking goods that were broken and I was leaving behind like my microwave, one garden chair and ice machine. The one man wanted a zinc basin, a lounge chair and garden table; which my husband and myself both said no to after many requests. I in fact gave The supervisor a garden table for his wife! I mentioned that it was going to rain, but nothing happened. In fact the last item was my bed, it was pouring with rain, so I asked for a mattress cover and I was told it would be R100.00 cash. I had no choice, as my mattress would have soaked. The two men who moved the bed decided it was raining to hard and I then lost my temper, I call the supervisor and told him to get my bed on the truck before I called the MD, he agreed and it was done. They finally left at 13:45pm. I was instructed by the supervisor not to put a time on the your official goods collection form when I signed it. After a very dangerous journey, it was raining, misty, foggy and roads slippery, we arrived at our destination at 21:45pm. I received a call from the supervisor on 24th December 2024 at 17:36pm, wanting to deliver my goods on 25th December 2024, I told him no, as I had paid for accommodation for two nights and I was not going to lose my money I spent. Then on 26th December 2024, at 5:12am on WhatsApp he informed me that he had a breakdown in Pinetown this is after he wanted to arrive at the destination at 6:00am in the morning, I told him this would not be possible. He left Durban at 10:20am and arrived at 12:30pm at my final destination. He then informed me there was a problem with offloading, I lost it and told I didn't care about his problem, but I wanted my goods offloaded and put in my place of residence. It then happened and after being asked for cold drinks which I explained, "I didn't have" they got on the job. My furniture was damaged, one umbrella was not in the black drum and some of clothing rails pipes. were missing. After spending R26950.00 for my goods to be collected and delivered, I would not recommend DLH for any work. They are not professional, don't care about your goods, lack punctuality and don't know the meaning of word communication.'

Overall horrible experience and complete disregard for time and previous arrangements.

Original arrangement for pickup and delivery was thrown out of the window by DLH Removals on the very morning it should have happened. No clue on ETA for the delivery, which meant I should have been at the premises from 7 the morning (instructed by them) until arrival, which happened 16h00.

Multiple items are broken which had clear fragile tape taped around it.

Had a great service with DHL, and the sub contractor. Guys didn't just drop the stuff but also helped place it to the designated rooms within the house. Very careful and friendly. Thanks Debbie, Mpho and the team

Good service, communication between departments on payment was a bit slow but problems were sorted out very fast and everything went smoothly. Driver was very good as well as the guys doing the move! Will make use of their services again!

We had a bit of a doubt especially when they were confirming days of picking up out stuff but other than than theyr friendly stuff, taking good care of our stuff, yes we have not more than 10 glasses and plates broken but we were happy with their services and prices..thank you

Whilst they were responsive in arranging the collection, I received no communication around drop-off dates/times. The first contact was when the driver could not find my house 5 days later.

The moving company's prices are affordable, but don't let that fool you. We were put under a lot of stress, to say the least, when they arrived a whole day late for our big move from CPT to DBN.

We were told, at the start of communication, that the truck would arrive either on a Sunday or a Monday, we asked them to please confirm the actual date several times throughout the process to get a precise date of collection (this is a reasonable request, right?).

In the end, they could only finalize the day, Monday, during the course of our last week in Cape Town. When moving day came, to our dismay, they phoned us that Monday morning informing us they might be late as they were dropping off three other clients' things. Being a little bit late would have been alright, even expected, we even told them we don't mind a pick-up after hours, as long as they came on Monday. This got out of hand as the day passed, and we ended up having to move all our arrangements to accommodate them on Tuesday morning (after their operations department lied to us saying they were trying to arrange a smaller truck to come to load our things).

I also have to mention that several items, even those clearly marked as FRAGILE, came back broken. I know that things break during a move and get scratched, but our bed base, a really sturdy table base (I don't know how they broke it), and several other items were dropped off at our new location and had been put into the van with much force.

If you use these movers you'll be paying less, but you'll be making up for it in stress, accommodation rearrangements, cleaning fees, and much more etc.

Worst experience ever.
I was charged ridiculous price for additional items that were not on the stock list(According to them).
The truck that arrived was not even theirs, instead they requested another company to load my items

The Communication with Debbie was great, I moved a 2 bedroom flat from Jhb to CPT. Overall the experience was good, the timings were a bit off. They picked up and delivered before the time they said which we had planned around but it’s better than waiting hours for something to arrive.

The only unexpected occurrence was the truck was extremely big and my Jhb apartment complex did not let it in so we had to order a smaller vehicle to get all the stuff and then that was offloaded onto the big truck outside the complex. That smaller vehicle comes at a cost. Please check with your complex if they allow big trucks before hand.

Painless moving experience

Thank you for the good service. Not a single plate or glassware broken. Minor damage to a side table, but other than that no worries. Everything in condition it was sent.

I cannot begin to compliment the delivery crew enough, they were so kind and considerate and could not have done more to help. I would certainly recommend Wise Move to people going forward. I was very impressed

Was happy with the service received from Debbie and the team.
All our furniture were delivered with no dents/ scratches, we made sure our things were boxed and covered well enough to have no damages to them. Thanks for delivering on time as agreed upon
